Airport Tax

S$15 tax is incorporated into the tickets issued and paid in Singapore. Otherwise, cash payment can be made at the airport counters. Only Singapore currency is accepted.

Skytrain

Passengers can get on to the Skytrain, which inter-links Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. It operates daily from 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Travel time is 1 minute and the service is free.

Airport Shuttle Service

Operating from the Arrival Halls of both terminals from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., the 6-seater Mercedes MaxiCab taxis bring passengers to any place or hotels in Singapore.

It departs every 30 minutes during off-peak hours (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and every 15 minutes during peak hours (6 p.m. to 11 p.m.) or as and when there are a total of 6 passengers on board.

Fares are priced at $7.00 per adult and $5.00 per child, to be paid directly to the driver.

Car Rental

Car rental is available at both Terminal 1 and 2 and counters operate from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. A valid international driving license is required or you can rent a chauffeur-driven car.

Car Parks Parking charges differ from time to time.

Limousine Taxi Service

Located at the Arrival Hall on Level 1 of both terminals, Limousine Taxi Service is available at a flat charge of S$ 35.00 to any destination in Singapore. It operates daily from 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Public Bus Service

Public Bus Service is available at both Terminal 1 and 2. Bus routes and fares are displayed at the bus stations.

Taxis

The taxi stand is located at both terminals on Level 1. Taxis charge Singaporeding to meters and there is a surcharge of S$3.00 for all trips to any destination from Changi Airport.

Customs Formalities

There is no limit on the amount of currency you may bring into Singapore.If you are 18 years old or above and are arriving from a country other than Malaysia, you may use the following duty-free concessions for personal consumption:

  • Spirits : 1 litre
  • Wine or port : 1 litre
  • Beer,stout or ale :1 litre

There are no concessions on cigarettes and other tobacco products. This is in line with the Singapore government`s campaign to discourage smoking. If you are carrying excess dutiable items, you may leave these in Customs Bond until your departure, provided this is from the same point of entry. Storage costs are chargeable.

Dutiable items include garments and clothing accessories, leather bags, wallets, imitation jewellery, chocolate and sugar confectionery, pastries, biscuits and cakes. Restricted amounts of these items may be brought in duty-free, provided they are meant for personal consumption.

In line with most other countries, Singapore prohibits the entry of some items, while others are subject to controls and restrictions.

Prohibited items include:

  • Controlled drugs and psychotropic substances
  • Firecrackers
  • Cigarette lighters of pistol/revolver shape
  • Toy coins and toy currency notes
  • Reproductions of copyright publications, video tapes or disks, records or cassettes
  • Endangered species of wildlife and their by- products
  • Obscene articles and publications
  • Seditious and treasonable materials
