Nano Prompts Serviced Apartment Demand in Ahmedabad
Tata Motors will soon be setting up a Nano plant 25 km from Ahmedabad and the project is predicted to change the face of the serviced apartment industry in India.
Although serviced apartments are a relatively new concept in India, senior level executives of Tata Motors are expressing a preference for serviced apartment living as an alternative to purchasing corporate housing. Sarkhej-Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad-Sanand highway have been chosen as prime locations for the serviced apartment development. Each unit will be completely furnished and will include WiFi and broadband services. The serviced apartments will range from one to three bedroom units beginning at Rs 20,000 to 36,000 per month.
The city currently has seventy to one hundred serviced apartments in which occupancy is usually between fifteen days to three months. It is predicted that the demand for serviced apartment accommodations will increase during the next two to five years due to the fact that there will be corporate clients moving into the city who need temporary housing. The demand will also increase due to the number of residential societies.
According to serviced apartment operators such as Royalty Private Limited and Shanti Serviced Apartments, exploration for additional sites designed exclusively for serviced apartments has been underway to provide accommodations in which corporate clients can take up residence immediately and simply move in with just a bag. The serviced apartments will offer much more flexibility and freedom.
The Nano project is expected to revolutionize the serviced apartment industry in India and begin a new wave of corporate development in Ahmedabad and the surrounding area. Originally the serviced apartments were utilized for people visiting the country on leisure travel or coming home for a brief stay.
